Boortmalt subcontracts water purification to Aquaplus
Since September 2011, Aquaplus is contractually responsible for all water purification operations in the Boortmalt unit in the Port of Antwerp. As the owner of one of the largest industrial membrane bioreactors for wastewater treatment, the malting plant is an interesting client.

Apart from customised wastewater treatment, Aquaplus shall also be responsible for the maintenance, laboratory analysis, chemical dosing and processing of screening waste and sludge. Aquaplus shall also be responsible for safety and environmental coordination. It was Aquaplus’s cost efficiency and openness that inspired the necessary confidence in Boortmalt to award it the contract. A results guarantee was stipulated for the achievement of the effluent standards specified in the environmental permit.

Limburg Water Board proceeds from cooperation to long-term contract
Structural cooperation with Aquaplus has been taken one step further ever since Aquaplus inspected two sewage treatment plants and suggested specific improvements for the Dutch Water Company Limburg (WBL) in 2010. In the next four years, Aquaplus will be inspecting four to six of WBL’s other installations, based on extensive modelling.

Venray owns the first WWTP (Wastewater Treatment Plant), which has an average flow rate of more than 16,000 m³/day and which shall be inspected this year. With these studies, Aquaplus offers its clients profitable and practicable treatment optimisation, along with better plant management to achieve the best ratio between effluent results and operating costs.

This dryer has a production capacity of 6,5 tonnes water evaporation per hour, spread over two production lines. With their specific knowledge of sludge from household wastewater, the technical staff of Aquafin were of great value for this project.
They made it possible for the manufacturer of the dryer to carry out his contractual obligations.
